The Ramblin’ Hucksters were an American blues supergroup consisting of Blind Willie Deafman, Little Guitar Junior, Scooter Perkins, and J.R. Tubbs. Featuring the sparkling production of Lynn Jeffries (of Symphony of Sight), “Last One Left” was one of three Deafman compositions on the Ramblin’ Hucksters’ debut record. “Last One Left” was the group’s highest-charting single, reaching #45 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988. With tongue-in-cheek references to outliving his contemporaries, “Last One Left” would prove ironically fitting as three quarters of the supergroup would not live to see the end of the decade.
